THE WORLD IN ABSTRACT is a cookbook that focuses on the natural color of food and our world by pairing up with works from Timo Lieber, Andrei Duman, and Klari Reis. Each of them presents some of the most original and breathtaking works that were inspired by the colors, patterns, compositions, and shapes this world has to offer.
Each chapter starts of with works by Klari Reis, where she focuses on using the techniques of science in exploring and documenting the natural and unnatural. The integration of science and art creates a very interesting result and is similar to aerial photos taken by both Timo Lieber and Andrei Duman. These aerial photos captures the natural and the unnatural part of the earth, some built by us, and some sculpted by the incredible nature. Timo Lieber focuses on the interaction of human with nature and its impact it has, while Andrei Duman encourages viewers to look beyond what is presented in front of us, but to the scale and breadth of what surrounds us.
These aerial photos are paired up with different recipes ranging from appetizers to desserts and the main reason for these pairing is not only for us to have a chance to held color themed parties but the deeper relationship of the natural vs. Unnatural and the the impact we have on this planet.
